The filtration speed of a Pure Filters system depends mainly on the model used, the number of filter elements installed as well as the condition of the filters.
On average, a Pure Filters system filters between 1 and 3 litres of water per hour.
It works entirely without electricity and without pressure: the system simply uses natural gravity to pass the water through the filtration elements.
Why can the flow vary?
Several factors can influence the filtration speed:
- The chosen model: a larger system can hold more water to filter
- The number of filters installed: several filter elements can improve the flow
- The condition of the filters: a new or recently cleaned filter may work differently from a clogged filter
- The water temperature: very cold water can naturally filter more slowly
A slower flow is not necessarily a problem. On the contrary, gravity filtration allows a longer contact time with the filter elements, promoting effective purification of the water.
Important to know
During the first uses, a new filter may require a short adjustment time before reaching its optimal flow rate. It is therefore normal for filtration to be a little slower at the start.
